This lovely farmhouse Bed and Breakfast in the beautiful Newlands Valley, close to Keswick and Derwentwater is under new family management for 2008 and has been refurbished to provide a high standard of comfortable accommodation.
This is a perfect spot for an "away from it all" holiday - yet the town of Keswick is just 15 minutes away, and there is a pub within easy walking distance.
There was a wide and shallow lake here at one time, 'Husaker Tarn', but it was drained in the 13th Century by the monks of Furness Abbey to make new land for cultivation - hence the "Newlands" Valley. The name of the tarn survives in the name of Uzzicar Farm.
The farmhouse dates from the 16th Century and the thick walls and original oak beams contribute to the character of the accommodation.
The accommodation has been inspected and approved by Quality Cumbria, in association with Cumbria Tourism.
